Hi –

My name is Ally. I saw that you have “Celtic Frost” listed as an interest. When my father was in his teens and twenties, he and Reed (drummer of Celtic Frost) were in their first band together. We actually have boxes of their old 45s. My father and Reed were recently reunited, and Reed’s been hanging out with us a lot. He’s pretty cool.

That's right, it's finally here! Were you completely flabbergasted when you heard how unrelentingly fast Chuck could play? I sure as hell was. I guess this is a cheesy introduction, and a shameless plug, but oh well. Come join in_human_form and tell of your experiences with Death's music. Discuss where to find Death merchandise (since it's so rare these days), compare albums, share pictures. Have a (nuclear) blast.

P.S. Opeth rules. :]

What's everyone's favorite genre of metal? And TOP 5 favorite bands in that genre?

I don't really have a favorite genre. I love all metal, but I'm not really a big fan of power metal. Fave bands include Slayer, Sepultura, Manowar, In Flames, Soilwork, Darkane, Gamma Ray, and Children of Bodom.

Fuck the stupid Internet.
For all those loyal members, remember that Dani Filth background I had? Well the picture went away (not a coding problem, just their site is down or something) and I can't find it anywhere. My question:

1)Do you have a decent semi-related to metal music background (pref. white)?
2)Do you have the exact old background or know where I can get it?

If you have a picture of yourself... post it. I'd like to see who you people are :)

so.. [17 Oct 2003|12:42pm]

[ mood | okay ]

its been forever since ive seen anyone post on here, so i figured i would take that step...seems it needs to be that way sometimes..but anyways...ive got two new cds...helvete by nasum, and the perfect is the enemy of the good, but burnt by the sun...the second one is a bit of a disappointment, if you've ever heard the first full length (soundtrack to a personal revolution) then you'll know by the second one, the edge has dulled a bit...still not horrible, but not great in my eyes...on the other hand, nasum's cd helvete has really impressed me...i once used to love swedish metal, then i lost a lot of my taste for it the more i got into american death metal, grind core, and various shit like that...but nasum has redefined grindcore for me...ive never heard swedish metal sound so good, its massivly impressive and i encourage any fan of grindcore to get it....

what cd's have the rest of you gotten that you would recommend to anyone else?

new [01 Oct 2003|03:42pm]

Hi. I'm new. I found this community yesterday and thought I'd join, so here I am! :) I'm recently really hooked on Opeth and Korn. I can't stop listening to them! My all-time favorite bands are Slayer and Pantera. I'm mainly a metal-head, but there are many different types of music that I love; I just happen to love metal the most. Yay. :) Nice to meet you all!

PS: Don't expect me to post often. I'll try, but personally I think school is just a bit more important than online journal communities. Hehe. So, I'm going to be pretty busy but I'll try and post as often as I can. Later! Oh, and check out my info if you'd like. I'd really like some new friends that I can talk real metal with! :D

okay, another question [24 Sep 2003|12:36am]

[ mood | drunk ]

i know that this will apply to everyone, so this should get some interesting replys...so here it goes:

name a band/performer that you like that all your friends would hate you for....

me, being the death metal fan that i am and usually hanging out with only such people (at least back in my home town), if they knew i liked WEEZER as much as i did, they would basically disown me...lol..but i cant help it...they are hillarious to me...so thats my dark secret...so everyone share!

so...we all know we listen to metal..but here's an interesting question...what other types of music do we all listen to?...HAH HAH...i posted...now, here's my answer...

i listen to a lot of shit...i listen to rap, a vague amount of emo (very limited, trust me)...and even some nu-metal..but not too much...my extent of nu-metal is mudvayne and tool..thats about it...

so its time to get some responses...rally the members and get some posting done!

.::ozzfest review by SPIN magazine::.

Korn, Disturbed, and Marilyn Manson kept able watch over the 13,000-strong sausage party. With nu metal's pop somewhat faded, mainstream music fans (read: girls) stayed away in droves, only upping the iron-man intensity. A speedy succession of metal newcomers and underground acts filled the early hours of the day, spreading spittle on a hardcore legion hell-bent on rocking before lunchtime. Motograter, Shadows Fall, and especially Killswitch Engage, stirred a sea of fists to near-boil. Cradle of Filth closed the daytime-only second stage with a ridiculously entertaining (and bloody!) S&M Cirque du Soleil performance that had Manson fans wetting their leather.

Since there isnt much talking in here, I've come up with a question! LOL.

Whats the song, or band, that has influenced you most. A song/band that made an impact on your life.

I'll come up with an answer sometime, I need to think about it.

TALK DAMMIT! [28 Aug 2003|11:21am]

[ mood | bouncy ]

Okay seeing how we have some very shy people on this board, I'm going to post another question. We didn't get very far with the whole music/violence/suicide thing, so maybe this could help you get comfortable with talking on this board.

What is the best concert you've been to? Why? What happened? Share your stories and talk about your experience.

If you haven't been to a concert or have only been to shitty concerts, than talk about a concert that you would die to go to. Explain why.

Blah do I feel like a teacher giving out homework.

Wouldn't it be hularious if Marilyn Manson did a duet with Enya? Haha! Could you imagine that!! "May it be....THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!"
Haha, ok, I'll shut up now. ;P

[ mood | bored ]

1. What are your top 5 bands and why?

1. Danzig- The fucking Elvis of heavy metal. No one can outsing him. Plus the lyrics are just sick. That's my boy!
2. Amon Amarth- Viking Power!
3. Hatebreed- The lyrics of my life. Hardcore and just mean. I fucking love em'. Sick fucking pits.
4. Slayer- NOBODY is like them. Thrash, punk, metal, they can do it all, and can do it well. THE SICKEST PITS, EVER.
5. U2- Grew up on them, and will never forget them. I have a lot of memories attached to their songs.

2. What are your top 5 songs and why?
I'll just stick with those bands;
1. Danzig- Mother, I could listen to this song everyday and be content.
2. Amon Amarth- V.S. the World. Just me against the world.
3. Hatebreed- Perserverence. The word says it all.
4. Slayer- New song- New Faith, old song- Dead Skin Mask. Sweet.
5. U2- Where The Streets Have No Names.

3. What is your least favourite artist and why?
99 % of all rappers.

4. If you had to choose, Christina or Britney and why?
Britney, I'd work her ass like nothing.

5. Cradle of Filth. Cool or not cool?
Depends on the song, but for the most part, cool.

6. What other genres of music do you listen to?
Metal, all genres and subgenres just about. Classical for sure. And uhh, don't laugh, techno. That shit is fun to fuck to and drive to. Driving fast is fun!

7. What song best represents who you are/your life?
Most definately, Hatebreed's Perserverence.

8. What concerts have you been to? Which was your favourite? Why?
A shit load, but most memorably ones. Slayer, Hatebreed, A.F.I., In Flames, Ozzy, SOAD, Rob Zombie, Meshuggah. . .I could keep going.

9. Favourite quote from a song?
I got a little twist of cain from the god below. . . .

10. Chocolate of Vanilla?
I can't stand chocolate. But that's just because everyone thinks that I'm a racist. ;)
